Anger as ambulance clamped at Dublin Airport
7:58:40 AM
Dublin Airport Authority has announced a review of its procedures after an ambulance was clamped at the airport last Saturday.Reports this morning said the Lifeline ambulance, which is contracted to health boards and a number of Dublin hospitals, was parked in a designated ambulance bay while waiting for a patient who was inside the terminal building. As the crew met the patient, the ambulance was clamped, even though Lifeline vehicles have been using the parking bay for six years.Dublin Airport Authority has defended the incident, claiming the ambulance bay was reserved for "life and death emergencies only".It said the ambulance should have driven to the short-term car-park, where it should have waited for the patient.
